Our view is that for leadership development to be effective, a systematic approach is needed. A leadership development process needs to be customized to the context leaders operate in, including the organizational culture, structure, stakeholders, competitive environment, strategic challenges, and performance management system.

It’s essential to identify and measure a comprehensive set of leadership and management competencies and behaviors. Through a 360 degree leadership development survey leaders compare their perceptions to those of their supervisor, peers, direct reports, and even internal or external customers. They identify blind spots in their self-perception, and gain insights about their strengths and development needs.

We also aggregate and report data for the entire leadership team, senior leaders, middle management, and front line supervision to identify overall strengths and development needs. This provides a road map for building on strengths, and addressing development needs from a holistic, long-term organizational perspective.
